I am Nicole Kozak, and I grew up in Brampton, Ontario. There, I was mostly self-taught in the arts until I got into the regional arts program at St. Thomas Aquinas. There my talents were pushed the hardest and I was presented with many opportunities such as apprenticing under the late Liv Babra. For the most part my art work deals with themes of identity and is closely associated with my personal life. My interests mostly lie in textile work, such as working with cloths, threads and yarn; which I believe is why video work works so well with my artistic interests, as I can still incorporate those aspects. However, I work with acrylic paintings often as well. I am not present on social media in regards to my work, but I often show at small galleries and art shows so you might catch me there!
